Wachita Creek     [ back ] Location: Madison County [ map]   Difficulty: Class II   Put-in/Take-out: The put-in is on hwy MM which is just a mile or 2 past the upper put-in for the Saint Francis. Follow the road until it turns into gravel, take the right fork and the first creek you cross is the put-in. The take-out is the Saint. This creek meets the river about 2 miles above the upper put-in.   Description: This is the perfect first time creek. There are just one or two safe class II rapids that are tight enough to give you a taste of creeking. The scenery is a plus too. This information was provided by Chris Amelung.
