To get to the put-in and take-out go east on hwy. 72 out of Fredricktown, headed towards Cape. Turn left on hwy. J then right on W. J either ends
or the road forks I can't remember which but just stay left and follow the dirt road and you'll be fine. After a mile or so, the river will appear
on the right and you will see a couple of pull-over/campsites. Continue on until you come to a fork in the road. Go right to get to the take-out.
To get to the put-in, take the left fork. After awhile there will be a parking lot for the Castor River shut-ins, this is the put-in. Put on the river wherever you want, but you might want to first hike the nice trail to scout the rapids before you put on. |
